Together for a Safer Community

"We believe that all citizens have the capacity to create a safer community."
Christiane Sadeler, Executive Director

The tools to stop crime before it happens often lie within the reach of everyday citizens. Crime prevention is everyone's responsibility.  By bringing together local government, agencies and citizens we can make a difference!

The Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council (WRCPC) is an advisory committee to Regional Council that works with community partners to reduce and prevent crime, victimization and fear of crime.

Crime Prevention Council members come from many different walks of life, including the community-at-large, schools, public health, municipal planning, justice, corrections, police, media, community agencies, neighbourhood supports and political representatives.

It's a bird...It's a plane..It's Say Hi Guy / Gal !!

Check out our Say Hi Facebook page for photos of Say Hi Guy and Say Hi Gal as they promoted the message that everyone has a role to play in crime prevention and it can start with an act as simple as saying Hi..

Sightings of our caped crime prevention crusaders were made in Elmira, Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge during Crime Prevention Week 2011!
